Today is the sixth day of Hydrocephalus Awareness Month and today I thought I would show you a photo of what someone who has Hydrocephalus and someone who doesn't looks like. It's important that we learn about Hydrocephalus because if we learn more and something new about it each day then we can help somebody understand what someone like me goes through. As you can see one person in the photo doesn't have enlarged ventricles and the other does. Hydrocephalus stands for water on the brain. A shunt along with the tubing helps drain the fluid. I would like to share another photo of what I mean. So here is the photo. Here is the second photo of what enlarged ventricles along with pressure looks like and the second person who also has Hydrocephalus where they have been treated with a shunt to relieve some of the pressure. September is Hydrocephalus Awareness Month and It Matters to me and to others who are living with it each and every day.
